Neck Pain in Desk Workers: A Practical Fix
21 May 2026 · 5 min read · Reviewed by Dr. Atharva Narvekar (PT)
Neck pain from desk work rarely comes from a single villain. It is the sum of a forward head position, an under-supported forearm, and hours without a movement break.
Start with the setup: top of the screen at eye level, elbows supported at 90 degrees, feet flat. Then add a two-minute reset every 30 minutes — chin tucks, shoulder blade squeezes, and a gentle thoracic extension over the chair back.
Strength matters too. Deep neck flexor endurance is consistently lower in people with chronic neck pain, and it responds well to simple daily training.
If you have headaches, arm tingling, or pain that wakes you at night, book an assessment rather than self-treating.
